Windarra on High

Windarra on High

Windarra is the original name of this beautiful heritage listed home built in 1880 by a prominent Launceston family. The Indigenous name means west winds, which is the prevailing wind direction here.

Sits prominently amongst other beautiful homes on High Street and is within walking distance to the city centre and only a short drive to all the wonderful tourist attractions, such as the Cataract Gorge, and the Tamar wine region. With the airport a short 15 minutes away, Windarra is the perfect starting point for your Tassie holiday. We cater for couples, singles and families (children over 5). Free parking is available and our guests will stay in comfort with an ensuite in each room as well as free wifi and a complimentary continental breakfast in our elegant dining room. As the new owners of this prestigious heritage-listed home, we look forward to welcoming you and making your stay a memorable experience. Should you have any questions, please give us a call on (03) 6334 1874. Your hosts, Gordon & Susanna Carter, Jeff & Cathy Charlesworth
