This afternoon the Board of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce elected the Officers of the Chamber for 2024/2025. This follows the election of Board directors by members in October.
Alina Bain, Chief Executive Officer and Returning Officer said “The officers of the Launceston
Chamber of Commerce Board for 2024/25 are:

Damian Ivereigh, President.
Damian is founder of Launtel, who brought gigabit internet to
Launceston. He is focused on growing Chamber membership and supporting Launceston’s
vibrant business community through innovation and advocacy.

Marcus Lancaster, Vice President.
Marcus was elected to the Board in 2022 and is Head of Airport Operations and Assets at Launceston Airport. Marcus brings significant business experience and understanding of regional businesses and the issues they face.

Alicia Perry, Vice President.
Alicia was elected to the Board in 2022. As a small family business member, Casalinga Gourmet Meats, Alicia is aware of the real challenges and need for community when operating to succeed here in Launceston.

Hans van Pelt, Treasurer. Hans was re-elected to the Board in 2023. Hans has local passion,
along with experience successful leading businesses in volatile markets. He has extensive
experience within aviation, government and with Board and Leadership teams in local and
multinational companies.”

Damian Ivereigh President said “I am excited and honoured to be elected as President of the
Launceston Chamber of Commerce. I have been long term supporter of the Chamber and businesses and community in Launceston. From my work as founder of Launtel, to my
community involvement in the Mens’ Table, I have a deep understanding of the challenges
and opportunities for businesses in Launceston.”

“The Chamber is a well-respected brand in the business community and is sought after for comment and influence on all matters relating to business, and economic development in Launceston and the north. I am looking forward to working with the Board and getting to know our members and prospective members, to deliver excellence in events and advocacy
for our members.

“I would like to extend our thanks to out-going President Kate Daley for her tenacious leadership as President over the past two years. Her practical and tough approach to the key issues has delivered positive change and opportunities for businesses.


“Her tenure is particularly notable for her friendly and approachable persona – BHAGS (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) and “What gets planned gets done” is now part of our vernacular.”

Damian Ivereigh said “The Chamber Board is now focused on 2025 and beyond, and we are looking forward to delivering a strong event program, including Launceston 2050 and the Business Excellence Awards 2025. Advocacy will be a strong focus, and with Alina Bain’s
expertise, supported by the Board and membership, we will deliver strong outcomes for Launceston and the region.”
