The Launceston Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2025 CareSuper Business Excellence Awards, following a record-breaking year of participation.
A total of 129 applications were received, with 71 finalists representing 53 outstanding businesses across Northern Tasmania. Each of the award categories features a maximum of six finalists, selected through a robust and refreshed judging process. This year, judges included subject matter experts and industry leaders, ensuring credibility, fairness, and quality outcomes. All finalists have now been notified.
“We were thrilled with the number and caliber of applications this year,” said Alina Bain, CEO of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce. “It’s clear that the spirit of innovation and excellence is thriving across our region.”
The breadth of applications reflects the strength and diversity of our region’s business community—spanning small, medium and large enterprises, and including entries from Beaconsfield, West Tamar, Devonport and Deloraine.
Finalists represent a wide range of industries, from the community and care sector to professional services, tourism, events and festivals.
“One of the most exciting trends this year is the strong engagement from new businesses and regional entrants,” Ms Bain said. “It highlights the growing dynamism of our entire business ecosystem.”
The Young Professional category drew particular attention with 18 applications and five exceptional finalists. “It is encouraging to see so many talented young professionals stepping up. The future of leadership in Northern Tasmania is in great hands,” added Ms Bain.
Winners in each category, along with the Chambers Choice Award, Business of the Year, Hall of Fame inductee, and Life Member recognition, will be announced at the Gala Dinner on Saturday 30 August at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston.
“This event isn’t just about awards—it is a celebration of the people and businesses that drive our region forward,” Ms Bain said. “Guests can expect an unforgettable night, with a three-course dinner by Chef Peter Twitchett, premium Josef Chromy wines and Boags beer, and a stunning live performance from a Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra ensemble.”
To help celebrate, Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston is offering a night’s accommodation for two. Purchase your Gala tickets by Friday 15 August to go in the draw. The winner will be notified by Monday 18 August 2025.
“We want the Gala to reflect the excellence we are celebrating,” said Ms Bain. “It is a night to honour achievement, share in success, and create new connections within our vibrant business community.”
