2025 CareSuper Business Excellence Awards

  • To be eligible for the 2025 CareSuper Business Excellence Awards, the nominated business must meet the same eligibility criteria as Launceston Chamber members. All applicants are required to confirm they are solvent at the time of applying. Applicants must meet the additional eligibility requirements for individual Award categories.
  • Northern branches of state-wide or national organisations are eligible to enter the Awards on the basis that their entry pertains specifically to their operations and activities in northern Tasmania. Applicants must be ongoing business operations and organisations, including Not for Profits, but excluding hobbyist operations.
  • Applicants DO NOT need to be a member of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce to enter.
  • Previous Award winners and finalists are welcome to enter.
  • Projects or activities outlined must have taken place between 30 March 2024 and 30 August 2025.
  • Award sponsors may enter any category, except the category they are sponsoring.
  • Award judges may enter any category, except the category they are judging.
  • Applicants may enter up to 3 categories – separate entries must be completed for each category. The categories available include Young Professional of the Year, and does not include Chamber’s Choice, or Business of the Year.
  • Businesses must enter themselves into the Awards (there is no nomination process).
  • Launceston Chamber of Commerce Board Members are eligible to apply under their own businesses.
  • Applications are only shared with judges of that category. Applications are not viewed by Chamber Board Members, or other applicants.
  • Young Professional entrants must be aged between 18-40 at the date of the Awards dinner event (August 30, 2025). 
  • Applications must be received by Thursday 17 July 2025.
  • Hard copy/email entries will not be accepted.
  • Conditions and Key Dates may change without notice.
  • Applications will only be received via the online application form.
  • All applications and contents will remain the property of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce and will not be returned.
  • Applicants agree to their organisations being profiled in the media and for entry information to be used for publicity purposes.
  • Eligible applicants will automatically be entered into the Chamber’s Choice category. Eligible applications will be any Chamber member business who apply, one entry per member. Winner of Chamber’s Choice is determined by popular vote. Votes will be invited from current Chamber members only.

Judges will be looking for applications that concisely capture excellence in one or more of the following categories, shown in provided answers, and support materials. Excellence is defined by demonstrating best practice in the relevant industry or field, and successful business outcomes as related to the category selected. Below you can view category descriptions and required questions.

Excellence in Equity

Awarded to the business who demonstrates a commitment to employing and retaining staff in one of the following categories:

  • Women in Trade
  • People with Disabilities
  • First Nations People
  • Employees working towards Clean Energy occupations

Describe your approach to attracting and retaining employees in the relevant category, how you accommodated the candidate’s challenges to participation, and addressed issues around motivation and barriers, and how they provided support through the application and on boarding process, and throughout the employment.

Excellence in Community Service

This category is open to incorporated not-for-profit organisations that are delivering innovative provision of community services to engage with more people in need, creating new opportunities and developing links between community and business.  These entities may operate social enterprises, deliver social services or undertake charitable work.  In pursuit of delivering positive community outcomes, they may operate with volunteer support.  

Explain your organisation’s involvement in the local region (for example social enterprise, services and charitable work), and the long term positive benefits it delivers to the community.

Exceptional Customer Service

This category is open to all organisations that deliver exceptional customer service models and new and innovative methods of developing customer service excellence in any industry.

What have you done to instill an exceptional customer service mindset in your business or organisation?

Excellence in Education & Training

This category is for businesses who invest in the continuous workforce development of their staff and workforce education and training.

Outline your approach to the design and delivery of training for staff, apprentices and/or trainees, and outcomes from those training and education opportunities.

If you have partnered or collaborated with other providers related to training and professional development, describe these initiatives.

Excellence in Design

This category is open to all organisations that deliver excellence in design, and new and innovative methods of developing design excellence. Design can include (but not limited to) architecture, environmental, graphic and print, or construction and manufacturing, urban planning, or public art. Submissions can be related to ongoing design businesses or be specific to a particular project or outcome. When determining the subject of your application, please choose the option that best represents your delivery of Excellence in Design.

Excellence in Health & Wellness

This category is open to any business focused on Excellence in Health& Wellness and is open to any industry. Your business may be delivering a health & wellness service or product to customers or focused on positive health and wellness initiatives for your teams.

How has your business delivered Excellence in Health and Wellness for your customers, community and/or team?

Retail Excellence

This category is open to any Retail Business operating in a physical space or online, provided operations have a base in the Launceston region (i.e. majority staff are based in the region).

Excellence in Innovation & Technology

This category is open to any business demonstrating Excellence in Innovation & Technology in any industry. This can include (but is not limited to) adoption of new technology to improve customer experiences or process efficiencies, use of technology to advance the scope of your business, or increase sales and revenue through the use of innovative techniques and strategies, or the operation of a business focused on technology and innovation goods or services.

Exceptional Workplaces

This category is open to any business demonstrating an Excellent Workplace. This can be determined by clearly defined strategies and outcomes across a range of areas such as workplace culture, staff recruitment and retention, professional development opportunities, for example. This category is open to any industry.

Marketing Excellence

This category is open to organisations that can demonstrate Marketing Excellence, either as a business focused on providing marketing products & services, or as a program or project with a specific marketing strategy applied.

Exceptional Event

This category is open to events that have been delivered in Northern Tasmania in the past 18 months. Entries can be one off events, or annually recurring.

This category is open to organisations that deliver professional services across law, finance, IT, marketing, planning & construction, training, and other non-physical products or services.

product or service. Applications should demonstrate commitment to consistently delivering

Building Exceptional Communities

This category is open to organisations that build communities that positively impact on, and deliver long-term benefits for, Northern Tasmania. Organisations must operate as professional entities at the management level, although there may be volunteer involvement.

Environmental Excellence

This award is open to organisations that have outstanding environmental practice and vision delivering innovative outcomes in environmental performance in any industry.  This may look like adopting sustainable environmental practises in your business or operating within the industry to improve environmental practises.

Young Professional of the Year
